Climate action is urgent, and governments cannot act alone. Businesses, cities, civil society, and transnational initiatives are stepping upโbut questions remain around real-world impact, greenwashing, accountability, and equitable outcomes.
This summer school offers a focused, practice-oriented environment to explore the integrity of voluntary climate action and build the skills needed to strengthen credible and accelerated efforts.
Over one week, participants will:
- Map the landscape of voluntary climate action and identify key integrity challenges
- Work with real-world cases and current assessment approaches from research and policy
- Co-develop actor-specific roadmaps for high-integrity climate action (e.g. cities and regions, corporates, finance, cooperative initiatives)
Applications from the Global South are strongly encouraged. A limited number of scholarships is available for participants from low and lower-middle income countries.
The programme is led by Prof. Birka Wicke and Dr. Sander Chan.
